This is probably my favourite restaurant in Kokkari. Laid back, friendly, superb dining. Mum cooks the food just along the road, always excellent. Try the mixed grill for two only if you are ravenous. An embarrassingly large amount of food. On the seafront, tables available on the beach or a few inside. I loved this place and miss it immensely.

I really like this place. It's like being in the middle of a Greek family. Grandma wanders in and says hello, kids are playing outside. A neighbor shows everyone a fish he's just caught on the beach. The owner never stops smiling and temps you with his specialities. Fresh octopus and Greek salad with local wine. Perfect. If you want... More

Off the main drag so you have to walk towards the harbour wall where there are three restaurants at the end of the beach. We approached with caution as the place was empty and next door was overflowing with Germans. We wanted swordfish and swordfish was on the board. So we were welcomed by the Greek equivalent of Dave from... More

Excellente! We loved this place and sat on the beach each evening for an amazing wonderful dinner. George was most accomodating, and we felt right at home. We highly recommend it, especially the eggplant, and the lamb. The lemon ratler beer is the best!

At Tarsanas Kokkari, not to be confused with Tarsanas in Pythagoreo which is not the same owners, you are warmly welcomed by the Kypreou family. Nestled along the beach, Georgia, who is in her seventies, cooks a variety of home-made traditional greek dishes using only the island's finest organic ingredients. From moussaka, to stuffed vegetables, the list goes on and... More

This family run restaurant when it first begun many years ago only made pizza. The pizza is a mix of Greek Canadian style pizza. It has changed somewhat over the years but this is the reason why I return - the home style pizza . I always go for the classic. The tables are on the beach or further up... More

We were staying at one of the three hotels Mr. Plastarias (if I remember his name) correct has. They informed us about his restaurant so we paid a visit. Too bad though we didn't had time to do it earlier during our 2 week vacations. Went there the last 3 days of our time in Samos. 1) The stuff is... More

A short stay in pythagorio. Two nights which meant two evening meals at Tarsanas! Couldn't fault the food or the service. The chef should be snapped up by a Michelin five star restaurant. The prawns (huge) and the lamb kleftaki were sublime. If you are here you must go there!

We ate some stuffed chickens there and they were good (though the look wasn't so good). This restaurant was almost every night quite full, so we didn't manage to go there twice. Or we would have, but then we wanted absolutely to eat moussaka and they didn't have it that night... But the next night they had a board that... More

We ate at this restaurant 2 or 3 times during our stay on Samos and all the food was wonderful. The service was a little slow, but I think it is just a casual island and nobody is in a rush. (All the restaurants we ate at on Samos had slow service. If we didn't have small kids with us... More

Description
Our restaurant "Tarsanas" which means "Boat building area", is a family run business, which started back in 1979 from grand-dad Yiannis. Maybe the oldest restaurant in Kokkari, it combines traditional Greek and Italian cuizine in a unique way, which will satisfy all your gastronomical preferences. With fresh ingredients of Samos, like our olive oil and vegetables from our garden, Moshato wine from our vineyard, we create plates that honor our Greek tradition.
