Our first time visiting despite having been to the Boat of Garten many times, which left me wondering why never came before. Great service, varied menu, tasty food, thoroughly enjoyed. Look forward to being able to order Pizzas from February. Will definitely be back,

On a rare night off we were delighted to discover it was pie night at Anderson’s! Only a short drive from home, we know the quality of food is always excellent. On a chilly winter night, pies sounded just the thing. I had the Mediterranean...vegetable and Brie, my husband had the beef with chorizo and Rioja. Really tasty! We did share a duck terrine starter which was really delicious. We could have eaten twenty of the duck bonbons. Wonderful with the fig chutney. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was delightful. Heartily recommended.More

Back for our third or fourth visit on Friday. Staff really friendly; range of options on the menu; salmon pate followed by pork, and tartiflette followed by risotto - both excellent, but the pork ‘extras’ a bit too crispy for me. Loved the homemade ice...cream. We’ll be back again.More

A rare night out for us and we eagerly looked forward to our evening. Sadly it wasn’t the enjoyable evening we hoped for based on previous positive reviews. The positives: lovely young welcoming waitress Elements of the scallop starter and venison main course were delicious...Quick service The negatives: the male waiter clearly didn’t really want my negative feedback on the scallop starter when he asked how our food was. The 2 (yes 2) warm scallops were served on a cold purée on a cold plate. Apparently this was how it was intended but to charge £13 for cold pureed vegetable and 2 little scallops is ridiculous. Sirloin steak £25 initially looked fantastic but we soon discovered that about a quarter of it was inedible. The venison main £30 was served with potatoes that weren’t cooked thoroughly and burnt baked carrot sticks. I didn’t bother feeding that back as I knew how that would go down already. Atmosphere was lacking. It was obvious from what was left on the plate when the plates were cleared that there was a problem with the steak so we are grateful for the discount on the steak but won’t return. We had a much much more pleasant lunch experience elsewhere today.More

We booked twice here on our recent trip to the area. The food was OK, but nothing special. The staff, again were OK but seemed to prefer standing behind the counter. It just felt that they were ready to go home. The staff can raise...what was OK food to being brilliant just by how they interact with customers. They could learn a great deal from the staff at the Old Bridge in Aviemore, the other place we visited.More

We decided to eat here, while staying close by at the Boat Of Garten Caravan Park - and we are so glad we did. What a lovely dining experience from start to finish. The staff were so attentive, friendly and polite. Outstanding selection of menu...choices. Our meals were cooked fresh, beautifully plated and absolutely delicious Food prices very competitive, however we felt the wine for a bit expensive - but we still opted for a bottle to enjoy with our meal. The restaurant was lovely and clean and the atmosphere was lovely and that says a lot these days about an establishment. Cannot recommend highly enough and we will definitely return.More

Having had a very average meal at our hotel, we were glad to find this restaurant within walking distance. All food freshly prepared by the Italian chef. Good service if a little slow at busy times. Very helpful young server with long blond hair (sorry,...don’t know her name). We ate here twice and would have come a third time but they were fully booked. Essential to book beforehand. No space for walk ins. We had good steaks and a delicious mushroom risotto. Portions are on the large side.More

Great food, good service and fair pricing--highly recommended! We were a party of four having dinner on a busy Saturday night in August and Anderson's nailed it. The servers and the kitchen performed well and we all agreed it was the best restaurant we'd tried...during our two-week trip to the Highlands.More

An imaginative menu with first class service. Couldn't fault it. My family had a beautiful meal on our last evening in Boat of Garten and we had saved the best till last. I saw several families with young children and all seemed welcome. Beautiful food...in a lovely restaurant with quirky decor.More

Came for a birthday meal with a group of 10 and found the menu to be excellent and there was something for everyone. Portion sizes are huge so it was great value for money, the food itself was amazing and totally different from any of...the other restaurants in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!More
