We have been going here for a few years but are really disappointed at the downturn in in the quality and choice of food. Prices have gone up but having tried it a few times now we shall not return for food. Having said that the real ales are still good and well priced.

Great hospitality from the staff. Had Sunday lunch which was lovely, lots of meat, fresh veg, roast potatoes and the Yorkshire pudding was the best. Great outdoor area too.

Whilst visiting our friends who live in the area they have taken us to this pub a couple of times and our experiences have been good. Our friends use the pub often and as they have children the large outdoor play area keeps the little ones happy while the adults can relax and enjoy themselves. The staff are friendly and... More

This is a real pub. Honest food at honest prices. A very very good range of real ale, all kept very well. Outdoors there is an impressive covered beer garden and a kids play area. Get yourself in there for a good beer or 10. MrPalio

We called here for drinks several weeks ago and sat in the very pleasant beer garden with its array of flowers. We had such a pleasant afternoon that we decided to go back the following week for Sunday lunch. Again we sat outside. All the food was piping hot and good value for money. They aren't big portions and my... More

This is a must for families! We came here regularly with our two boys and also friends and their children and are never disappointed. In good weather we always sit in the enclosed beer garden with play area which keeps the little ones safe and entertained. The food is home cooked and delicious especially the chips. The menu is varied... More

We went to watch the football and decided to stay for food. We found the staff extremely friendly and the food was brilliant. Two of us had the pork belly on the Sunday lunch menu and it was very well cooked and tender. It was well priced and we will be returning again. Especially my parents for the great £4.95... More

Visited on Friday the 4th of March 16. Hospitality was atrocious and the buffet well let's just say dry sandwiches very little variety and tasteless. Landlady was particularly rude and needs training immediately in customer service. We will never return again.

Tucked behind a railway bridge next to the Macclesfield canal, it can go unnoticed. Its an old fashioned vibrant pub. All ages gather to chat around the bar, or in front of the open fire, plus play pool. Even a guitar in the corner for anyone to strum. Not large but perhaps that's why it's cosy. Super beer garden, with... More
