Dropped into Talbot Yard for a look around and found this little gem. The staff were great, so interested and keen to share their knowledge. The coffee was great too.

Decent coffee but very limited selection of food and very few seats inside. Staff can be a bit surly, telling you where to stand, demanding table numbers, and rarely deploying good manners. Some customer service training wouldn’t go amiss

Wonderful coffee, which is hard to find in the UK, and delicious cake. As it was such a beautiful day we were able to sit outside and enjoy people watching.

Located in the Talbot Yard Food Court, a friendly cafe with decent cake etc. The yard offers other delights, notably Florian Poirot, whose Macarons are far too dangerous - great flavours, melting in your mouth.

I found this coffee shop while visiting Malton for the Food Festival, the market place was very busy and I was looking for somewhere quieter. I also took the opportunity to look at the other small businesses nearby, including a butcher/fishmonger. The coffee was good,...and I chose a cake from a small selection. I also bought some ground coffee. The types of coffee were helpfully explained, and the beans were ground for me to take away.More

We called into Roost Coffee whilst staying at the very nearby Talbot Hotel. We sat inside, the doors were open, there was a clearly defined entrance and exit - a very decent flat white (also a tea too)! A warm welcome from the staff, tables...being wiped down, a place to sanitise your hands too.More

After a short wander in the town of Malton we sought out Talbot Yard on the edge of the town opposite the Talbot Hotel on Yorkersgate. The modernised, former coaching yard is the home to a variety of independent businesses, all sensitively set in a...pedestrianised courtyard, each with their own unique style. Roost Coffee recommended the Tonto coffee when I asked for a stronger flavour and it was lovely ... flavoursome without being overpowering. It was served hot and black - perfect! They are a doggy friendly space and our pooch, who is never particularly settled in restaurants or cafés was able to see out of the window and behaved himself very well. The staff even gave him a free doggy biscuit! I'd recommend this place for picking up locally produced, freshly roasted coffee and for either coffee 'on the go' or a quick pit stop.More

It’s a little tucked away in Malton but definitely worth searching out. Great coffee with plenty of cakes etc

Called in for a coffee just before Christmas for a warm up, after a ride out on the motorbike. The coffees (cappuccino) were excellent as was the service. Bought a sachet of their Swiss water Guatemala decaf to take home. Just had a coffee with...decaf and can confirm it is the best home made cappuccino I have ever tasted. Well worth the 40 mile ride out and will be calling in there again for more.More
