Good toasted tea cakes, but serving tea in thick pot teapots and thick cups = cold tea. Didn’t have time to discuss as were in a hurry and needed to move on. I’d suggest either warming the pot or changing teapots and cups. A cuppa...needs to be hot!More

If I could swear here I would! I was looking for something good quality, English and tasty. We walked past the pretty shop and saw it had tables. 3 of us had lunch, cumin and roast cauliflower soup with bread and butter, gluten free sandwich...of chicken, avocado & coleslaw with salad and crisps, ploughman's with ham, pork pie (or quiche), capers, olives, boiled egg, salad, bread and butter, pickle and cheese with truffles. 2 diet cokes water and a bottle of cava came to £40. Note the are licensed to sell alcohol 'off license' but not 'in license' so it is technically BYO ( but just buy a bottle open it outside and technically OK). The staff are lovely and super knowledgeable. The shop sells wine, cheese, deli items, pasta, chocolate and condiments. They have an antique/vintage shop upstairs selling china, glassware and furniture which is fabulous. But the main point, the FOOD! Proper food. I mean meats cooked on the premises, handmade pies/quiches/samosas/cakes/pastries ect (not frozen & into the oven like famous high street chains). Yes it is reflected in the price but it is so worth it. Millionaire shortbread twice as as thick as an old video case. Big succulent cake. This is a food lovers heaven. And guess what the staff are fabulous too! 100% returning you MUST tryMore

Always a pleasure with exceptionally friendly staff. The only caveat, and this applies to quite a few places, is that if you are making a special journey telephone to make sure it is open. Their web site states open on Mondays - it isn’t.

We happened across this cafe/deli last weekend when looking for somewhere for lunch. The food was really tastey, the ambience was quirky and the atmosphere was just right! But, most noticeable was the staff! They were very patient and so hepful - giving time to...everyone to chose what they wanted. We shall certainly make a bee-line for this cafe when we're in Malton again. Thank you..More

Called for coffee and cake. Brilliant selection of cakes and the cafe is very well stocked with delicious looking food. Friendly staff. You have to walk through the kitchen to get to the toilet which needs decorating and cleaning.

If you are looking for things that you can't find anywhere else check Relish. But expect for average products that you can get elsewhere to be upcharged insanely but exclusive products to be of the best quality really well priced.

Called here for coffee and cake just before heading back home to Leeds. As we entered the shop it looked lovely and quirky, and also had a gorgeous antique shop hidden upstairs. After browsing the antiques we headed downstairs and took a seat. We had...to grab the ladies attention as she was stroking a dog behind us oblivious to the fact we had even entered the building. Our coffee was luke warm and the brownie would of broken a window. Will not be returning when back over that way.More

I’m very sorry to didn’t enjoy your visit. If you’d mentioned something whilst in the deli we could have sorted things for you.

We had to wait ages to be served as the red haired lady behind the counter was too busy fussing and stroking a dog at the next table (not hygienic especially in these covid times) The coffee was average and the cake very very dry,...seems to have gone down hill. Will neither recommend nor return!More

We operate a clean hand policy. All tables are thoroughly cleaned and all staff wash their hands regularly throughout their shifts. They are also wonderful people who would have happily corrected, replaced or refunded anything that you felt was not up to standard if you’d...More

No one has ever tried to order a vegan loaf. All our bread is from norton bakery and is vegan. The only enriched dough is the croissants. What type of loaf were you after? I’m sorry we disappointed you. Please in future... More
