Nothing wrong with staff, coffee, restaurant. Have visited Costello's in Malton and Driffield several times and always enjoyed experience. Went in today and ordered usual Americano X 2. Am recovering from hip operation so gave partner debit card (they dont take cash) and then saw...price list on wall. Americano cost a few weeks ago £1.85 -today £2.60 an increase of over 40%. Queried price and told owners had increased prices a little1 Well sorry but you won't be seeing us again. What a rip-off.More

Fran was so kind and helpful to us today. She served us delicious coffee and cakes on a beautiful sunny day. We sat outside. Fran offered to store our luggage while we explored Malton. We will be back!

Beautiful large Caf at the top of the Market place. Book swap for adults and play area for children. Amazing variety of cakes and even pies and quiches, the staff are very accommodating. Relaxed and spacious atmosphere. Definitely will be back. Thank you!!

It was pouring cats and dogs as we parked on Market Place so we dived into this cafe and bakery. Tea was delicious hot Yorkshire tea. Scones must have been baked weeks ago. Like house bricks. Why sell something which should have been binned. Our...everlasting memory of our first visit to Malton in the rain will be disgusting scones.More

We visited the food festival and wanted somewhere to sit and have a coffee. This cafe had a lot of seating available so it was a good location /choice Pros Easy to find a seat Spacious inside and outside Several staff with one member seemingly...making most of the drinks It was a busy day but the staff were coping well Cons Coffee was OK but nothing special. Also I was standing by the collection end, I think my coffee had been given to the customer after me as they'd ordered regular and I'd ordered large but the drinks looked the opposite and they collected theirs before me..... A busy day though so wasn't going to question it. The kids mini play area looked a bit odd. I don't have kids that age but if I did, I workshy have investigated it. Tip to cafe owner Ensure an even split of workload on staff on days when drinks are more in demand Try and make the play area look more inviting. Would we visit again if in area? Sadly no.More

What a lovely place to stop for a coffee on the way to Scarborough! Very welcoming and friendly. Cosy and comfortable. Served by Sarah, a very kind and friendly young lady. Even let me play her piano. It was her birthday too. What a find,...will have to stop there on the way back 😍More

Wee stop in the beautiful town of Malton sent in to Costellos bakery and coffee shop. Mistake …….. a coffee shop that sells Pre wrapped scones with a use by date of 23:06/2021 today was the 20th . Cheese scone was tasteless, cherry scone ok...nothing special! The boys ate theirs as they were hungry ….. not for me as they have palm oil and anti caking agent in . Lots of room for improvement! Coffee was good. Service was great one person on and worked very hard to ensure no one waited too long .More

At first glance I took Costello‘s to be one of those bakeries with a simple, old fashioned cafe. Once inside I realised that I was wrong, and the furnishings and design of the cafe area are very smart and as good as any trendy coffee...shop. I had a pot of very good tea and my wife declared the coffee to be excellent. And we both thoroughly enjoyed the almond slice! Service is lovely and priced very good.More
