I stopped in here when I got to the coast track and grabbed a panini to go. It was great and they even heated it for me to take away hot! The staff are super friendly, they have great coffee and even serve beer! Awesome spot!
Tried to book a table for dinner (twice) but both times when I walked in to speak with the staff they totally ignored me. There were no other customers about. There were 4 staff behind the counter all chatting and who could clearly see I was waiting. One staff member did eventually come over but then obviously remembered something important... More
Ate here twice recently- full meal before the AT walk and pizza afterwards. Both meals were delicious, especially their treatment of the green lipped mussels as a stater. And the view over the flats at the start of the walk are divine.
The location is right at the entrance of Abel tasmac national park, so if you are planning a long trek or returning from one, this place offers good options to fill yourself up. We had veg quesadillas and sandwich , which was served along with salad. Both dishes were delicious.
We had green lipped mussels which were absolutely delicious. The service was brilliant being served by two charming NZ/German girls who found the time to chat to us, despite being quite busy (Halina was one of them). We were amazed at the quality of food and would recommend it highly.
The food is from local suppliers like the excellent mussels and the lamb shank is very good as well. We did not expect a restaurant with such good food here! It was a bit cold inside so minus 1 star for the locality but stuff was very friendly and the food very good which is most important.
A good review in lonely planet drew us to this cafe. We decided it would be fun to splurge on breakfast after cooking in our van for a month. The coffee was good but not hot and that was the best thing about our meal. Service was slow and the food wasn't worth waiting for. I had the veggie omelet... More
Convenient location at the start of the Abel Tasman walk and park entrance- good food and cakes. Also does pizza
