Fantastic place. Lovely service and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Staff all worked well together and it had a very pleasant atmosphere. Tip: the smoked salmon and prawn cocktail starter is unbelievably good with no scrimping on juicy plump prawns. Would highly recommend...More

The table was dirty, we had to clean it ourselves, we also had to get knives and forks ourselves, the staff members were very laid back and at times unpleasant. We were six and ordered all at the same time, 5 meals arrived and hour...More

If the table was dirty it was because you sat down without making a reservation, without speaking so someone to ask if the table was available and without allowing serving staff to clean and prepare it for the next customer before you sat down. Not...More

Such a shame. Excellent burgers but the staff seemed to have a strange attitude to customers - like we were a nuisance to be tolerated. Bizarre front of house. Rules where rules didn't need to be applied. Because we didn't sit at a "laid out"...More

Haven't been there for about a year , took a customer along and was disappointed as the menu was basically the same and had not changed. Small areas to eat in would not like to be there if busy. Noisy as hard furnished.More

Hello Ken W The size of the building hasn't changed nor the table layout, so it would certainly have been the same as the last time you might have visited. Our menu has a good track record and remains predominantly the same as a year...More

We were planning to go to another restaurant nearby to celebrate our wedding anniversary but unfortunately (or as it turned out fortunately!) we found ourselves having to look for somewhere else to eat. We were so glad we chose The Barge! The staff were lovely...More

We were a family group of seven. We had pre -booked for 2pm on a Sunday. My wife and I are familiar with this pub and the whole 'Battles bridge' site. We arrived in three cars and I was amazed at how busy the carpark...More

Really glad to have come across this lovely pub! Ordered a sandwich but it wasn't on the menu however they made it for me anyway. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely be returning!

We were visiting Battlesbridge for the first time, and saw this attractive pub from where we parked the car. Not only was the ambience perfect for a summers day (with wonderful flowers and a tidy beer garden), but the food was also terrific. It was...More
