Excellent beers on tap, great bar area and friendly knowledgable staff. You felt really welcome even though quite obviously a tourist. After some beers we asked for a recommendation for a bourbon. Wow the one suggested would have been a triple measure back in the UK and I had the headache next morning as proof. Had breakfast in the saloon... More

This is a bar resturaunt. Very popular place to go, we wanted lunch, but it wasn't available at the time we were there, it was delivery day. If you can bring your own 4 wheeler, we did and it was raining but was a good time, we got to see more and on our own. My husband did go on... More

We met the owner Neil and he was a very nice man. Elise was the bartender and was very nice as well. Super fries were amazing and so was the burger. A good stop for a few drinks as well.

We spent 3 days in McCarthy- we ate our first dinner at the Golden Saloon, already loved it. The meals were prepared very nicely, with beautiful fresh ingredients and were fairly priced. The breakfast was especially nice, serving fresh fruits, homemade granola and baked goods. We thought we had had out best meals in Alaska so far- well, that was... More

We had a great dinner at the Golden Saloon - good service, good beer, and good burgers. Just be advised, they don't get their deliveries till Thursdays so French fries might be out by Wednesday!

There are not many options to eat out in McCarthy, but this one does NOT disappoint! Excellent fresh fish; really good salads and sides. Love that meat dishes were easily made veggie friendly with substitution of tofu and also that several menu options were gluten free. Excellent service.

The Golden Saloon is the social center of McCarthy. The breakfast is adequate; lunch and dinner are fantastic and the atmosphere is not to be missed. This place is amazing considering it location. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here during our visit to McCarthy.

If you're walking around McCarthy, of course you need to stop in the Golden Saloon for a bit. I recommend the outside seating, to enjoy the street view, but that's just me.

The Golden Saloon was full of colorful characters and had great bartenders. Very good food and on our second night there, an amazing band as well. It was extremely busy but ran like a well-oiled machine. We all LOVED it!
