Found this charming restaurant today and had lunch - the best Cullen Skink soup ever! We had soup and sandwiches and my grandson had sausage, beans and mash. He is 5 and told us the mash was beautiful! We did try some and it's fab, asked our waitress how it was made so we can try this at home. Many thanks... More

We had a nice meal tonight and enjoyed all the locally sourced food. The Lamb and Monk Fish scampi were yummy. All the sauces tasted herby and delicious. The sticky toffee pud and chic cheesecake was very good and we shared a cheese board. We welcomed the information about where the cheese came from. The fried Kale was good even... More

Poor lighting, polyester net curtains, plastic tables and cracked upholstery could be overlooked if the food were fantastic. Unfortunately it's not. Prices are high (but typical of the area), service good and nice large fabric napkins . The menu was varied and tempting but failed to live up to expectations. Venison pie was less a pie than a cobbler, presented... More

We were staying in a rented cottage at Rosemarkie and decided to try this restaurant as could get there.easily on the local bus. We were surprised by the extent of the menu and the food was cooked to order and beautifully presented . The young waitress was friendly and very efficient . We enjoyed our meal so much we returned... More

Visited here with my family on a wee break to Nairn. The service was excellent and the food was excellent. My macaroni cheese was superb. The Cullen skink was also superb. The waitress was very friendly and chatty and was very good with the 5 yr old we had with us.

Fantastic food and service. Bookings are essential...this is a very popular place and rightly so. We were very fortunate to get a table and would have come back the following night if a table was available, but sadly not possible. Much to our disappointment. If you are planning a visit, make sure you book here for dinner every night in... More

Great little place serving locally produced food to a very high standard. Much better than any large establishment in Inverness and all at reasonable prices. the chef should go for an award.

This was our first trip to Eilean Dubh, think I've been put off by the look of it from the outside. However, we had a lovely meal, scallops & crab to start, turbot & sole for mains, followed by local cheeses. The staff were friendly & knowledgeable. We'll be back!

Description
We are a family run restaurant which specialises in locally sourced and cooked foods. We make everything on site and are proud to be the holders of the best locally sourced restaurant title in Scotland.
We can accommodate most dietary requirements but very specific requests should be notified.
We offer a range of service times from breakfasts till 11.30Am , lunches till 5pm and a proper restaurant menu in the evenings.
As we cook everything from scratch including all our kids meals please do not get us confused with a greasy spoon cafe! Or pub grub style. Our pride is in what we produce. We grow a lot of our ingredients on our own farm and source from our neighbouring farms and we can always tell you who supplied our steaks.
