Traditional pub by the river with a nice pub garden. A great stop off on the south downs way - there are very few this close to the path. Inside it is fairly traditional with a good selection of beer. The lunch menu was excellent, and the staff very friendly Recommended.

We got recommended to this little gem.Great atmosphere. I had the ribs and it was massive and superbly cooked . The other dishes were equally as large and delicious. For me the most important part were the staff . So polite and attentive, it completed a perfect afternoon . Highly recommend and will return .

How on earth does one improve upon perfection? That's a question which regular customers and casual visitors alike must ask upon dragging themselves away from the Bridge Inn at Amberley in West Sussex, a real gem of a traditional country pub located right next door to the well-known Open Air Industrial Museum, where the River Arun and the main Bognor... Good, friendly staff, log fire and pleasant atmosphere; very eatable food and a menu with wide choice and a board of specials. And it sells Harveys!! Life's fine

This country pub nestled in the Sussex countryside is fabulous. We visited for Sunday lunch whilst straying nearby after reading the reviews on here and we weren't disappointed. The food was tasty and the beer and wine selection very good too. The staff are friendly and welcoming and a credit to the pub.

Nowhere to park. Dogs everywhere. It was a Sunday. The restaurant area was packed in to the point where it was rediculous. This kind of ramming in two small rooms is common for caterers maximising profits at the expense of its clientele. It usually results in people going elsewhere. As a result the food suffers. I had a meal that was... More

Taken here by a friend. First impressions are good when they have Timothy Taylor Landlord and 2 Sussex Ales on tap (sadly I was nominated driver). Choice of dishes comprehensive. I and friend went for Roast Pork, partner went for beef. Good portions and plentiful veg. beautifully cooked. No room for desert. Great atmosphere...limited on parking though.

My wife and I had lunch here. I started with whitebait which was marvellous. it was wonderfully seasoned and probably the best I've tasted. However, my wife had calamari which was chewy. You would expect a decent chef to be able to produce better than that. My wife's main course was tikka masala. It was pleasant but very basic. No... More

Went to the Bridge last night to celebrate a friend's Birthday, and had an excellent evening. From the friendly welcome, knowledgeable bar staff, attentive waitress and a great choice of ales we were off to a flyer! The menu choice is enough to suit everyone without looking so extensive that you'd think it wasn't home cooked. Starters were home made... More

Visited this pub after a lovely local walk. It was busy on arrival, so sat outside initially and were told when inside table came available. Welcoming fire, friendly service. I had a Steak mushroom and ale puff pastry topped pie - delicious, really tender meat and crisp pastry, the portion of ribs was delicious and very large (15 ribs). Highly... More
