Great evening, with delicious food, perfect service and atmosphere. We dined here with friends, like the round table which is good for conversation. Staff were attentive, helpful but not intrusive Food quality was superb. Are main course took a while to arrive, not that we'd noticed but the staff apologised a couple of times and offered us compensation! We were... More

We often go down the bel for brunch and take our toddler and infant along. Firstly the brunch is first rate & served till late morning, with great quality of ingredients and although a little more ££ than one of the local cafes, is worth the value because of it. Then for the kids there's a little play desk/ toys/... More

Fantastic food and the sommelier is to be complimented but on a Saturday evening we had two main problems. On arrival at our table we were presented with two tumblers per person. One for water and one for wine as they'd run out of wine glasses. The wine selected was worthy of better and so we retainer our glasses from... More

Dear Karen, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback regarding your recent visit. I’m pleased to read you enjoyed our selection of wine & found the food fantastic. I’m sorry to read that you did not enjoy our wine glasses. Although our standard glasses for wine are the tumblers, we understand that this is not to everyone's liking... More

We had lunch in October 2016 at Bel and the Dragon. Good food, reasonable price , very good service and a nice view of the street life. This is the good recipe for a pleasant, informal lunch.

Eaten here a few times in recent months and it is a wonderful place. Gorgeous building, casual but very stylish decor complimented with excellent, friendly and attentive service. The menu has something for everyone and everything we have ordered has been very good indeed. It is cozy in winter, and the garden is a lovely place to sit and ear/drink... More

This is a perfect cosy little English pub nestled in the heart of Cookham, that is very cosy, the staff are attentive, chatty and nothing is too much trouble. The food is superb, the dining room is comfortable and cosy and nicely spaced out for added privacy. Would highly recommend, but best to book as it's popular!

Been here twice now in 2 weeks, the food is superb, the wine list is exceptionally good (the Cotes du Rhone from Beaucastle is lovely). Was there last night and one of our party was pregnant so needed the menu varied. The chef came out and was absolutely lovely and very accommodating. He even cooked us all a special dessert,... One of the oldest Coaching Inns in England, Bel & The Dragon Cookham sits on the village's picture postcard High Street, a short walk from the Thames Path and under a 30 minute drive from Central London.Following wholesale refurbishment, Bel & The Dragon combines 600 years of history with the best in modern British cuisine. The menu is created by award-winning Head Chef, Ronnie Kimbugwe, who previously spent 7 years with Gordon Ramsay and was most recently the Senior Sous Chef of Gordon Ramsay at Claridges. His passion for the finest seasonal fare, sourced from local & sustainable ingredients, is immediately obvious. It is also complemented by the inclusion of a rotisserie for the very best Roast Chicken, Creedy Carver Duck or the signature spit roasted Suckling Pig.And then there is the Josper Grill, which cooks at up to 600°C and is compared to an indoor barbeque- since it has transformed restaurant kitchens forever, with early converts already including Gordon Ramsay at the Savoy Grill and Heston Blumenthal at Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental.Wine lovers are warmly welcome to enjoy one of the best cellars in Berkshire, stocked with only the best vintages at extraordinary prices. The special Cellar list has been created to provide amazing value for money between £55- £95 per bottle, for some of the best wines ever produced.
