A nicely decorated pub with good atmosphere offering well-cooked, if a little standard pub food. Good helpings. Good if you're just looking for a good value, reliable pub meal.

We were heading back to Buxton from Stanage Edge and in need of refreshment and a snack. Having run along the edge energy levels were a tad low and pickled egg, pork scratchings and a pint were the obvious solution. Service was excellent, the beer and snack were great and the fire was lovely and warm. We started chatting to... More

My recent visit with my family saw all of us partaking in the Beef sandwiches on the menu (which we had seen someone else eating on the next table) and not a crumb remained after a very short space of time! The... More

The Black and Blue burger containing black pudding and blue cheese were a major hit along with the steak and ale pie. Pleasant local village boozer setting with friendly helpful staff. Great value, so beware it does get busy

Came here for the new year and there was a really good atmosphere with a live band on and the drink prices were reasonable.
