I booked the superior room as a surprise for my husbands 40th birthday. The room is lovely. They arranged for a glass of real ale to to be in the room on arrival (as my husband isn't a fan of champagne) and there was a lovely welcome plate of sherry, yummy chocolates, grapes and biscuits. My husband described the coffee... More

We had bed, breakfast and evening meal for two nights at this well-placed inn. It is convenient for local walks and short drives to other Peaks highlights. The warm welcome and offers of help and advice by attentive staff throughout our stay made this a thoroughly enjoyable couple of days. The chef is excellent: there were a variety of options... More

My boyfriend and I ate here last month. We were lucky enough to be based in the village for a few days and decided we should go out for dinner one night. A lady I work with is from the area and had suggested places a short drive away from where we were based, but a little research online told... More

We stayed here for two nights with my ninety year old father and family. What made our visit was the warm welcome from the proprietor and chef James and this was apparent through the whole of our stay. He really did go out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. The food as expected was superb and worthy... More

Paid a return visit here for Sunday lunch based on previously good experience and again was impressed. Excellent choice range for Sunday lunch with 5 starters, 6 mains and 6 desserts. Presentation and taste combinations were very enjoyable. Would have liked to try all the starters! Shame that they do not do a platter of the starters!

We dined on a Sat night, with the 7 course taster menu. We had a great evening. Firstly the food was excellent. We eat at a lot of fine dining restaurants (with stars) and the Samuel Fox did not disappoint us. Every dish was well thought out, complimented the menu and executed to perfection. The food is fairly simple (which... More

Bright and pleasant atmosphere but only one set menu (with options) of which we were not advised when booking. Things got a bit messed up resulting in incorrect meals being brought to table resulting in delay.

After we have previously had good experiences here we booked for lunch on 29 January on the restaurants website The website stated that the place was to be re opening on 27 January and as far as we were concerned the booking was confirmed on the restaurants website. When we arrived after a 45 minute journey we found the place... More

We would like to again extend our sincere and unreserved apologies to the reviewer and her husband for this very regrettable incident. We had believed we had taken all necessary steps to avoid any such an occurrence during our extended shut down period but, for reasons we do not understand we clearly failed on this occasion. There can be no... More

Popped in here Friday night on the off chance of grabbing a bite to eat after arriving in the beautiful village of bradwell and although the dining area was full the very friendly barman suggested we could sit in the corner of the bar if that was ok, it was more than ok being sat next to an open roaring...
