Most incredible restaurant in Laos

We ran across this restaurant by accident and have enjoyed our experience dining here. They have a wide selection of American foods, coffees, and desserts. I had the blueberry cookie crumble desert and the chilled Macchiato Coffee which was incredible. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anybody traveling to the side of the world. Highly recommended!

SURPRISING PLACE IN SAVANNAKHET

Very spesiell place. Good atmosphere and inventar. Wide variety of food and drinks. Good service and friendly staff. Prices a bit high, to be in that town. All over, a place I would visit again.

After reading much hype about the resort, we decided to stay here for 2 nights. The rooms are decent but i don't understand why the aircon unit is on top of the study table instead of facing the room. Breakfast food is ok, but for the 2 mornings it was the same food. For a place to name itself as Macchiato, I would expect the coffee to be of a good quality, unfortunately it is a joke as it is a pour-your-own-type. Though it named itself as Resort, it is far fetched to use the word Resort, there are NOTHING to do here, not even a pool ! And there were signs everywhere to remind you about possible charges for calling a taxi, guests for breakfast, smoking in room, etc.

Crazy expensive

We were up at the bus station buying tickets and thought this would be a good place for brunch. That was a mistake! Probably the most expensive place in the whole 3 weeks we were in Laos. Okay, the coffee is good but that doesn't justify the cost. Prices are quoted in Thai baht so I guess it's not trying to appeal to locals but surely even ex-pats don't pay 45k+ lak for a slice of cheesecake. And the set breakfasts were about twice the typical downtown price. My advice: avoid

Worst experience in Laos and one of the worst ever. Bad in all aspects

First of all this restaurant serves bad tasting pizza at insanely high price. Second their service attitude is one of the worst. The bad-attitude servant (shown in picture) even quarrel with customer Third this bad restaurant shares a owner of a hotel with the same name ‘machiato hotel’. The hotel is even worse. They make customer wait 4 hours and don’t let them check in. In their pathetic mind their stupid rule is the biggest. If u cherish ur time and want to have a happy trip, don’t pay this restaurant and the associated hotel. Save ur money and time elsewhere. 这家餐厅和同名的酒店属于同一个老板不仅强行要求已经付费的客人等待长达4小时不让入住竟然还与消费者争吵说这是所谓‘规定’ 也不知他们哪来的资格定规定我呸

Rest after longtime in the queue

The place looks posh and new. The prices are ok, the service good, the food delicious. The service was friendly and quick. Even when English was in the beginning a bit a issue, later on we managed it in team work meaner. The ambiance is warm and friendly, the music they played wasn’t relaxing, but never mind. The place is very close to the consulate. In front Tuk Tuk taxis are waiting to bring you anywhere you need to go. We all like the Thai dishes, the burger was also delicious. Thanks for your hospitality, we will return .

Huge and tasteful cafe

I was surprised to find this place - it is huge with plenty of space to relax over a coffee or to catch up on work. The general theme seems to be London for some reason but the decor is tasteful although the rather sanitised music could be improved! Excellent coffee and also had lunch there. Not many vegetarian dishes - I had a spinach cheese bake - very tasty but such a small portion - left me hungry! There is also a playroom for children - so all in all a place you can hang out.

Amazing food and drink. The atmosphere was nice and cleaned ! The staff was perfect and the Owner can speak Vietnamese. I will definitely comeback here.

Overpriced...

It is a real luxury to eat here, very expensive.. in the end we ordered some cheesecake and when we got it it was so tiny.. its not a fair amount for what you pay so we sent it back. Food was good but I really don't understand why they use plastic cups and straws..

Nice food and the variety of everything

Nice food from here with the variety of Japanese Vietnamese, Thai and European. The coffee is average but still much better than other places. We tried caramel Macchiato and Mocha, seemed like they used dark roast coffee. Dessert and other drinks look interesting but did not have a chance to try. The staffs were friendly and professional. The seats were so comfy, suitable to wait around for the embassy appointment. Other people argued that the price is above Laos average, well we came from Bangkok so I'd say it is a normal Bangkok restaurant price.

Why don't more people go here? It's food and drinks are great. The breakfast, with baguette, is too die for! Highly recommended.

Not Worth it

I had two hours to kill on my way to the Thai consulate so i stopped here. I looks like it been put in the wrong place, very expensive looking restaurant and fittings. The food itself.... well for the price very average. The Mac and cheese was very small portion and at 40,000 kip very disappointing and bland in taste. Cappuccino was ok, the cheesecake at 35,000 kip was tasteless the portion size embarrassing. Also 25,000 kip for a bottle of water. The service was ok but only 1 staff member spoke English. Overall its VERY EXPENSIVE the prices on the menu are ridiculous but i am guessing the western owner put a lot if money into this place.

Price was too expensive. Beer of small bottle was 25000 Kip, Steak was delicious, so it was expensive but ordered. But the amount of steak has become even smaller than before.
