I visited this restaurant during a family holiday to France on Friday 6th August and what a lovely place this is. Beautiful inside and very clean with a very warm welcome from our host. The food I cannot fault, especially the deserts, these were a selection of small/mini deserts served with coffee, this is great as no decision had to... More

Difficult to fault a meal like this. A 3 course French fine dining experience for €49 and of very good quality. The choices were good as well, I had the trio of foie gras to start including a Thai broth which was fantastic. The only slight disappointment was my beef which was a touch overdone but tasty nevertheless. The best... More

We came here having read the reviews and wanting to try for ourselves. We had a wonderful meal (we went for the big menu) and found the service to be friendly and discreet. As my partner was not drinking, we did like the fact that there were several half botlles on offer and enjoyed the Pouilly Fuissé very much. Then... More

Stopped in for a meal here recently. We were the only family in the restaurant. Staff were very accommodating, and made a special meal for my youngest son. My wife and I had the set menu with a starter, main and dessert for €29. Appetizer had three parts and each was excellent. I had the beef for my main and... More

The dining room has been modernised since our previous visits, and the food has fewer Asian influences, but continues to be well-flavoured, well-presented and served with original and innovative touches. The wine list is interestingly presented - one page of wines all at €27, another listing wines all priced at €37, etc. In practice the prices are slightly higher than... More

A group of six of us, 4 adults and two children stopped whilst cycling on our bikes. We popped in and the owner came out and explained the menu to us in English. We telephoned that evening and booked for the Saturday lunch time. We opted for the menu du jour at 29 euros. For starters we had a seafood... More

We visited for lunch with the €34 menu. It was 3 courses with a set starter and desert. The main was a choice between Loire fish and duck for the main. The food was delicious and the wine was good value. The service was excellent, we didn't book and were dressed casually and this was fine. I would visit here... More

This hotel/restaurant used to have another name ' Les Soeurs etc ' - anyway intrinsically French & Gennes has a very special history as the bridge where the Saumur cavalry put up a last ditch fight against the incoming German army - with the result that Gennes church has a memorial which relates that sad event. Its difficult to imagine... More

A great evening of fine dining, fine wines and entertaining company. Would I go again? You bet I would! the service was great, every table was being attended; there were no delays, the food was hot and presented beautifully. The wines were superb; overall a great experience.

We visited here on TA recommendation and that of our hosts in our holiday gite and were very disappointed. It is a good restaurant compared to what else is on offer in the locality which is probably why they can charge a lot of money for average food. The ambiance is good if a bit neutral - lots of greige!... More

Description
Situated 30 km from Angers and 15km from Saumur, this typical old stone house restaurant has been decorated in simple natural beiges and features lots of wood, all inspired by Marjolaine and Jean Francois' travels through South America. The Chef, an ex student of the Saumur Hotel School, offers a refined and inventive cuisine using seasonal produce from the region. The menu changes according to the time of the year. Marjolaine and her team provide a warm welcome and are happy to assist with the excellent wine list featuring wines from every region in France as well as wines from around the world. The L'Aubergade restaurant also boasts two private dining rooms which are ideal for any type of gathering from baptisms, weddings and business meetings to regular art exhibitions and can cater from 20 to 60 covers.
