There are few places in the city where you can have a tasty and atmospheric meal. We went for dinner to the ethno restaurant “Dastorkon”, where you can buy everything that hangs on the wall (carpets, paintings, postcards, etc.), for dinner another day to the restaurant-club “Saimaluu”, and for breakfast we headed to “ Lighthouse.”
“Lighthouse” is quite stylish and cozy. On the ground floor there is a cafe, and on the second... a small hotel! 🤯
When we arrived for breakfast and were waiting for our order, it was very funny to watch how from the second floor, a little embarrassed, they asked to bring breakfast.
Regarding breakfasts: quite large and filling. Kirill took the English breakfast, and Lisa took the Viennese waffles.
As for the coffee: good. But, if we take Karakol specifically, it’s the best we’ve drunk here. Rich and pleasant to the taste. Doesn't sour or bitter. So, it’s worth getting coffee only here. Plus, you can have a delicious snack.

I was recommended, by a fellow traveler at a yurt camp, to go to Lighthouse because they were raving about the cheesecake. After long day of travel, I showed up and actually ended up ordering my entire dinner from there and it was delicious. Both were really affordable, the inside is beautifully decorated, although I saw outside where two tables make for a more Covid-safe option with a nice breeze. The wait staff was really friendly and the best part is, the next day I returned to eat again and they told me it was closed since it was a holiday....then the owner and her family invited me to have dinner with them, since I mentioned I was starving and every other place was closed. They treated me to their dinner, introducing me to their kids and relatives, and it was one of my favorite experiences in the country =]

Worth a short walk. This place is near Amir Hotel and serves excellent food and drinks most of the day. There is a range of mains including some local dishes, and has pleasant places to sit and eat anytime of year.

Just had some of the most delicious food in Karakol for dinner The menu is more modern then traditional Kyrgyz fare, but everything was delicious. The restaurant not only has a cute cafe setting, but a full dining room and menu to match. The interior feels very upscale, but the pricing is unbeatable.
Service was exceptional, even though there was only one person servicing the entire place. They were quick, friendly, and did a hell of a job on a busy night.
Though the restaurants is located on one of the many dirt side roads in Karakol, and at night is quite dark, this is an oasis of delicious food on the southern end of the city.

We had an issue with one of our dishes (the waffle machine was broken) and had to order something else, so we had quite a wait. Fortunately we were not in a hurry and ended up ordering some takeout as well for later. The staff was friendly (and apologized for the delay with complementary cheesecake) and the food was delicious. I would absolutely eat there again.

The best coffee restaurant in Kyrgyzstan for us, everything is absolutely tasty and delicious. The staff is professional and kind. Every dishes was absolutely perfect. The price is very low . The menu is complete with many kinds of food( pasta, pizza, chicken, tea , coffee , amazing milkshakes, incredible cakes and cheesecake). This is the best restaurant we have been in Kyrgyzstan. I also like the design of the restaurant ( modern and woody)

We have been two times there. The service was very poor. Not welcoming staff at all, no organisation. The cuisine wasn’t bad in itself, but what is the point to receive your meal with the bill? To watch other eat while you wait for your dish for ages? I also found plastic in my soup, which is, let’s finish with a positive note; better than flies.

Nice place in Karakol, a bit far away from the center, took me a 15 minute walk but it was worth it for me as I wanted to eat different, lot local food. I had a chicken bowl with quinoa and chick peas. The price was ok and taste was good. Staff was attentive and kind. Place was full with other foreigners.

We had lunch at this place as our guesthouse was nearby. Cozy atmosphere, good menu with both local and european food, friendly service, and fair prices. A real café-style place which consequently attracts all different kinds of travelers.

Great place. Very nice stuff. Very good food. We are vegetarian and found a lot of choices to select between, and everything was delicious. The stuff was very nice and friendly. They speak English and even ordered us a taxi and waited outside to see it arrived.

We just had breakfast in this lovely cafe. We have been at few coffee shops and restaurants in Karakol, this place is one of the best.
Excellent food and brilliant service.
The coffee is proper smooth the way real coffee lovers would enjoy.

We love this place it was great food a lot of fun, very unique. The staff spoke great English I suggest the salmon omelette they had board games for kids to play at the table and service was excellent.
