It is a small scale simple restaurant that was fairly busy. We started with some appetizers followed by hoppers, bryani, curry and nan, then desert. Overall the food was good, some very spicy. Service was somewhat slow and very unattentive. There were two servers on the floor and the server we dealt with mostly, we had to ask her several... More

I eat here fairly regulatory, and it never disappoints. For me, you cant go past the dosa and the goat saag. Fantastic!

I stayed in Sydney for a few days and came back several times to this place. I tried the Veg Thali, the Idli, the Masala Dosa, and the Hoppers. All was authentic South Indian / Sri Lankan food and delicious, at reasonable prices. This isn't a fancy place for dining out - but a place for very good quality food... More

We decided to try this place on recommendation of one of our party members after coming out of the cinema. The food was extremely nice and very reasonably priced. We tried some dishes we have never tried before which was great. We wanted some wine, but they only had one bottle of shiraz, so suggested we go to the bottle... More

We shared hot and spicy prawn curry, mild chicken curry, beef curry and pea and potato curry. We could taste the spices in each dish. We had naan bread at other meals here but didn't order it this time because if the amount of food we ordered wouldn't leave room for the bread!

We first started going to this place many years ago and always enjoyed it despite slightly indifferent service - the food was always good. Then the food seemed to decline and we stopped eating there for a few years. Back today for lunch and it had returned to its former glory. Prawn masala dosa is my favourite.

The taste of Sri Lanka served up in an artistic way and delicious to the last bite. "Kammadhenu" is the place to go in buzzing King Street Newtown for authentic Indian fare. Try it out you'll be sumptuously surprised.

I worked in Sri Lanka a couple of years ago and fell in love with Kotthu and this place recreated that taste for me perfectly! Whenever we go we get the chicken Kotthu and the masala dosa which I couldn't recommend enough. I live in manly but travel to Newtown just to have this food! Prompt service and delicious every...
