Went to this restaurant while on holiday in the area and after reading so many positive reviews about it, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! Although it was almost full and we did not have a reservation, we were given...a table promptly. A very helpful host helped us through the menu (only thing we can complain about is that menu was only in German). We took the house's specialities: Kasnudl, Backhendl and Goulash! Food was simply delicious, portions were generous and prices reasonable. A must if you're in the area!More

A really nice place where it's possible to taste typical foods. The fried chicken was spectacular, tasty and not greasy. Also the garlic soup is definitely worth a try. The personnel is very polite and helping, with non german speaking clients. And at last, but...for sure not least, we've tried a cake for the dessert that was creamy and tastefull.More

The food was absolutley delicious! I had a fried Schweinschnitzel and my boyfriend got pork medallions wrapped in bacon. Amazing, the meat melts in your mouth and you get portions that put you in a food coma:) The only comment I have is, that they...don't have english menu's so we struggled a bit, but the waitress was kind enough to help us:) Deffinitly recommend!More

We walked to this restaurant from our nearby hotel. It’s in a quiet, country setting. Staff was fantastic and explained anything about the menu that we didn’t understand. We were a group of 6 with two large dogs and were very happy with our meals...and service. We returned the following night and were not disappointed.More

Had heard so much about this gasthaus prettily situated on a hillside above the Worther that perhaps it was doomed not to live up to its prepublicity. Carinthians enjoy its honest pub cooking with all the favourites from schnitzel to tafelspitz and a good dose...of local daily specials including fish. We had a lovely dinner served by charming staff but the food was just ordinary. Fried chicken, trout fillet, soggy throw it all in salad. One wonderful black bean salad in pumpkin oil and a fresh white wine stood out. I would go back for the setting. Sit on the terrace if the weather good enough as there has been some somewhat dubious taste applied to the interior dining rooms which are otherwise well appointed.More

This restaurant is in a typical Austrian house with beer garden. A short drive behind Portschach. The food is an excellent example of local tastings. We visited it a few times during our stay in the area. It has grown and expanded in the last...four years, at times not for the better. It can get very busy and the staff can be pushed to the limit. However they do a fabulous job under busy times and the food is worth it.More

Had a sampler of the Austrian dumplings with salad for main course and a Kremesnitte for desert. The dumplings were all superb, but I liked mostly the one filled with spinach. The place is nice and calm located just below the forrest and is a...bit hard to be found, but really worth the effort. Service is good.More
