Firstly, the pub is amazing inside and out. The decor is great and the atmosphere is perfect for a village pub. We were very impressed. We had a large family meal booked and were a little stressed by the fact that there was only 1 baby highchair in the whole place and another child was using it so we had... More

We were looking forward to trying the revamped pub. Decor is good a vast improvement on the past, like the sofas Good selection of ales. Menu has good choice , may be too much. Service was average at best which is not good enough. Fish and chips were good but side salad with it really ? Also served hot plate... More

This place does excellent pub fayre in a lovely dining room with a slight conservatory feel. There is plenty for the more adventurous eater but it was great to return to my childhood region to sample traditional local, well cooked food. We would certainly return when back in my childhood stomping ground! It is good value as well. Apparently it... More

My partner and I have become wholehearted regulars at The Ship since its relaunch back in June, and this review reflects that in part as well as tonight's meal. Thanks to The Ship's dogs-welcome policy it makes the perfect break on our long daily dog walks, so we drop in regulalrly for a pint, and occasionally - as this evening... More

Brought a customer here for lunch & was certainly a good choice. Lovely setting with lots of parking with gorgeous decor & a great atmosphere. I had the satay skewers to start & then the bangers & mash. All cooked lovely & presented well. Will definitely return when I'm next in the area.

This was our second visit to the Ship Inn so we decided to push the boat out and go for the T-bone steaks. Both were cooked exactly to order and tasted superb. Not having visited the pub prior to the refurbishment, I can't comment on what it was like previously but the decor now immediately gives it the feel of... More

As a resident of the village for 15 years, I'd never consider myself as a local, but I do love our little village nonetheless. To see this pub decline over the same period was very sad, but the new owners have worked a miracle! With considerable aplomb the investment here has been very effective - it now has all the... Staff don't know what they are doing, I blame the owners for not training them unless the owners want that level of service?? Food put on the plate without love and care, fire/train him/her

We booked a meal here for 10 last week and pre-ordered for 7.30. We weren't taken to the table until 8:15 but the room we were given was private, nicely presented and cosy. The whole pub has been sympathetically decorated and very comfortable. I could go into greater detail about the evening but won't bother (mind you the home-made tartare... More

Excellent food and drinks, with lovely bar staff, can't complain Visited 29/09/16, ordered burger of the day (beef), the portion was generous and cooked to perfection. The pub has recently undergone refurbishment and I now highly recommend this pub
