Monarch CAA claim

Apologies if subject has already been discussed.Received an email today from the company acting on behalf of CAA regarding out of pocket expenses.Filled out all paperwork & fired email back off to them(not easy when they also want signatures)

Monarch went under while my wife & I were on holiday. We returned on a Thomsons repatriation flight. Our original Monarch flight was due to leave Funchal at 11.20am.We left on the Thomsons flight at 17.00 hrs.Roughly 5.30 hrs later.

My question is are we due compensation for the flight delay. The reason I ask is because the letter said "administering ATOL claims, including expenses"

Rob

Who'd pay for the delay? Monarch no longer exist so they can't pay you.

I'm guessing this is a wind up, at least I hope it is, but just incase it's not, what delay? Your repatriation flight left on time.

I guess now that everyone wants/demands compensation for every little thing that goes wrong or causes a slight inconvenience. The company is bankrupt and all of it's employees now out of work, but yet, you want money back !l

No, YOUR flight never left, by the time you were meant to travel the company did not exist. Then you got a free flight home, just be grateful.

Please I don't want owt for nowt.I am very grateful for the web site up by CAA when on holiday & also to Thomson airways for getting us home.

Leyland...It's not a wind up.I have not asked for the CAA to send me the claim forms. They even state that my Thomsons flight left over 4 hrs than my original Monarch flight.Their words not mine.I won't be the only person receiving these emails

You can't claim from the airline, but you might be able to claim for any additional expenses or for the delay through your travel insurance. You'd need to speak to whoever you arrange insurance through.

You think the CAA will pay a delay claim for you?

You don't want out for nowt really ? Read the first part of your post I quoted ...' are we due compensation'.

For what exactly ? You got home safely, in good time and presumably had a nice holiday prior to Monarch going under.
