What should I do?
I misspelled one word from my last name. it should be mohamAd but I typed in mohamEd......
I booked from Malaysia airlines
Go back to school? Seriously, how can people misspell their OWN name?
"Seriously, how can people misspell their OWN name?" Well, if one's name is not typically spelled using a Roman alphabet, but needs to be for some purpose (i.e., airline ticket & passport), I can see it being easy to "misspell" when moving from one document to another. There might not be a "correct" spelling per se, only a need for consistency between documents.
OP: contact the airline...They are likely to charge a fee for correcting, though.Edited: 24 October 2017, 01:30
Your own name? Really?
The post title suggests perhaps not just the OP miss spelling one name but THREE passenger names.
OP you need to call the airline or the agency you booked with and be very humble and ask for their help in making the name changes.Edited: 24 October 2017, 05:49
You seriously got 3 names wrong on a booking?! Including your own!? This must be a troll.
I think the explanation inodt #2 could be the reason for this error in all 3 bookings.
I just... I can't see this as being serious. Did you not cross check just to be sure? I get that misspellings can happen when there's a language barrier but wouldn't that prompt you even further to ensure you're spelling it correctly?
Geeze people. OP misspelled names on booking. So sorry. He is prostrating himself in front of all the smart people here and asking for forgiveness and advice. What's the purpose of continually beating him up verbally?
<<should be mohamAd but I typed in mohamEd>>
I would contact the airline. As it is an islamic country, you might have luck. There are so many different spellings for the name of the Prophet (PBUH), that I give you a fair chance that the airline will accept it and change it for free.
However, do not wait till you are at the airport. In foreign countries with non Air Malaysia check-in staff that could be very different.
But please, next time type it as it is written in the passport.
