Travelling in Arizona. By RV or by car?

Hi guys, I would like to spend 1week traveling in these places in Arizona:

1) Antelope Canyon

2) Grand Canyon National Park

3) Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument

4) Lake Havasu City

5) Saguaro National Park

Can I know whether traveling by car or by RV is the cheapest and easiest option? I am traveling in a group of 4 and we would like to experience traveling in RV but not sure whether it is the right option. We will be flying from JFK International Airport to Arizona and will go to Las Vegas as our next journey.

Could someone please advice. Thank you.

Go with a minivan and motels. No dumping waste tanks daily and much more comfortable...better visibility, better fuel economy, and mobility. Also, that is about a 1300 mile loop, which is about 3 days driving with no stops. Saguaro takes you really far south and is about 8 hours from Vegas. You might have to condense. Where and how long were you planning to stay in the places?

Finding parking for a car at the Grand Canyon is problematical....parking for an RV is somewhere between difficult and impossible.

An RV is what you use when you want to travel from Point A to Point B and stay for a few days exploring, then pack up and head for Point C, where you will spend a few more days exploring. It is not over overnight stops. The folks you see driving down the road in an RV with a tow car hitched on behind with which to do the exploring are the smart ones.

As Eric suggests, you could rent a van or an SUV for the road trip.

What time of year?

How soon from now?

Where in Arizona would you fly to ? Logically, Phoenix, but you've not said.

What does your next journey is Las Vegas mean? That you then head to Las Vegas for the continuation of the same trip, or that you will visit Las Vegas as a completely different trip? Only, the response will affect what I'd want to suggest.

RVs are rarely a cheap option unless you don't really move far and only self cater, and they have major drawbacks for a trip that is moving on all the time - like you envisage. Plus, you effectively loose most of the first and last day because of RV rental company pick up and drop off hours, so that would leave you will little more than 5 days to complete this trip plan - not really worth it, frankly.
