Arriving by train from da nang

Help 🤓

Hello, i have booked 4 nights at mui ne hills for 4th aug. Had hoped to get train from da nang as staying in hoi an. Seems impossible to get a train to nearest mui ne station coming from north, the one ife seen states 45 mins by car from Binh Thuan station, is it possible to get a reasonable car trsnsfer? Or easier to fly to HCMC then get train to Phan Thiet?

Hey Ginamstaunt

Anything is possible in Vn but it all costs money ;-)

Seriously, if you are planning to use the train then do so. You can either get a cab or arrange private transport through your hotel from Binh thuan station.

Compared to flying to HCMC, the airport transfers, waiting etc.... the train is a great option.

45 minutes in Vietnam is a blink of an eye. Enjoy the scenery. It will probably cost you $25 though ;-)

You could fly to Nha Trang and take the Coach along the coast to Mui Ne. Timings might be awkward and require an overnight in Nha Trang though, but anything would be better than down to HCMC and back up to Phan Thiet for Mui Ne.

If you look at a map you will see the train runs along the coast after leaving Nha Trang but then it heads inland for its final destination of Saigon.

That's why taking a train from Saigon the line branches off and goes directly to Phan Thiet and then buses to Ham Tien and further North East to Mui Ne.

So if you plan on taking a train from Danang you would need to alight the train at Binh Thuan station. This won't be a problem if arriving at a decent hour but if in the middle of the night it could prove a problem. And then depending on the resort you are staying at, whether someone will be awake to greet you at your accommodation.

As suggested maybe a stay in Nha Trang then take the scenic coastal route by bus to Mui Ne.

If you flew to HCMC the train leaves at 6.40am so you would still need to stay overnight in HCMC to catch the train the next morning so you have heaps of choices.

If you do decide to get the train from Danang to Binh Thuan station make sue it is one that arrives into Binh Thuan station during the daylight hours.

Warm regards and travel safe in Vietnam, Dirty Pierre.
