Literature on Western Balkan

Hello, I'll be travelling to Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro this summer. I'd like to learn a bit more about contemporary life (culture/society/politics) in this region.

Do you have any recommendations for non-fiction books on those countries? For the history view, I'm thinking of reading Misha Glenny's book, but I would love to find something on the current situation in (one of these) countries.

I would also recommend John V.A. Fine and Robert J. Donia (1994). Bosnia and Hercegovina: A Tradition Betrayed. Columbia University Press.
