There are several good restaurants in Ponteland but our favourite is probably Cafe Lowery [a mile from the village centre on the shopping arcade at Broadway within the Darras Hall Estate]. The menu probably needs updating as it's been the same on our last 3 visits but there's enough choice to ring the changes.
Would recommend splashing out on a starter [especially the spinach and cheese souffle!] and a main course rather than a pudding- as the puddings aren't very exciting.
Pleasant house wines and good coffee and friendly, attentive service.
Can't wait for Rialtos to re-open in the centre by the bridge after the refurbishment but it'll have to be good to beat Fratelli's!
