Katathani Resort

We are considering staying at the Katathani resort in July for 8 nights with our 9 & 8 yo kids. Just wondering how far the walk is to local restaurants? I understand there is a large hill to walk up to get to town, is it walkable for kids or do we need to rely on taxis? We will mostly eat in the resort as breakfast is included and lunch will probably be by the pool. So it would just be dinner options.

It is a pretty steep hill to walk to Kata but depending on how fit you are you should be able to do it - maybe cab there and walk home

We stayed at the Katathani 2 years ago and are also going back this July with our kids aged 10 & 8. The walk is fine it only takes 10 minutes. Yes the kids complain because of the heat and walking up the hill. We often walked one way and taxied back the other. The resort is great for the children and there are plenty of restaurants over in Kata to choose from.

Just returned from Katathani resort in Kata Noi and there are 5 or 6 restaurants just across the road, (as well as a 7/11 and a family mart). Ate at several of them and they were all very good. There is also a pizza place that is part of the K. resort that does take aways.

we stayed in Kata a few weeks ago and attended a wedding at Katathani. We walked a couple of times over to Kata Noi as we liked the quieter pace that was over there. A few restaurants/bars to enjoy.
