Day trip from Jerusalem

We will be traveling to Israel and staying in the Cramim hotel outside of Jerusalem. We are renting a car. We want to spend one day leaving Jerusalem early in the morning, and driving to the Golan Heights for the Jeep tour. From there we want to spend some time at Tzfat, and the head to Tiberius for the Sunset Cruise on the Galilee. Is this feasible?

Feasible - yes, practical - not so sure. It will take you at the very least 3 hours of driving to get to the jeep tour - depending on where it will start. Could be longer.

In short, depending on what time your jeep tour begins your day will begin very early, end extremely late and include at least 6-7 hours of driving.

If we skip the Golan Heights, is there less driving?

Yes, but not significantly -- you have to understand that from Jerusalem to Tsfat is about 3 hours driving each way. Up to the Golan, depending on the exact route and destination, would add about an hour total.

We are traveling to Israel in late August and are putting together our itinerary. We originally thought we would stay at the Cramim resort for the whole time (8 nights) and take day trips. However, we are rethinking this as we think it may be too much driving. For example, we want to do the Golan Heights jeep tour, Tzfat and the Sunset boat cruise on the Galilee. We thought we would leave Jerusalem early in the morning and return at night, but this does not appear practical. Any suggestions putting our itinerary together for our trip or for this part of it?

You will be much happier (and relaxed) if you spend one or two nights in the north.

Is it worth doing this if we are only in Israel for 8 nights? Are we better off skipping this part of the country?

With 8 nights in the country you can easily allow 2 nights for the north.
