Mirissa whale watching boat trip recommendation?

Can anyone make a recommendation for a reputable and ethical company to contact for a boat trip in Mirissa? I've heard some terrible stories. Thanks.

Hi there,

Have a look at the reviews here

And also follow the pricing rules in the top question on entrance fees.

Hello

Raja and the whale without hesitation. They were excellent from start to finish. Good boats, good ethics very informative talk about the whales and not overcrowded. Boat was very comfortable with a proper loo too.

I've done the whales twice and it was 10 times better with raja.

I have gone with Chaminda.. it was good. But keep in mind no one can guarantee to see a whale. Don't get disappointed if you didn't see. Chamindas team chased the whale until we all get a closer look at the whale.

My friends told me that they saw lots of dolphins but i didn't see. It depends cause its not a fish tank.

Hi Looking at Sri Lanka for March 2018 - we would want Snorkelling off the hotel, Diving form the hotel and then a few trips, animals on a reserve, history and whale watching.

We don't want to damage or break the law - is this possible in Sri Lanka?

Any AI hotels you can recommend?

We are travelling from the UK

Hi there,

Yes this works. See www.divesrilanka.com for best dive sites, generally Hikkaduwa/Unawatuna/Mirissa are best centres and Mirissa is also the base for whale boats. For the animals need an overnight trip to Uda Walawe or Yala as these are 3.30 hours at closest away (from Mirissa) and safaris are 6-9 AM and 3-6 PM. You'd have to google hotels with AI option, e.g. Hikkaduwa and Koggala (near Unawatuna) have that option.

All the best,
