Family surfing

Where are the best areas for kids surf lessons in Sri Lanka - I've been to Hikkadua 20 years ago so thinking Hikkadua, Weligama or Arugum Bay?

Thanks

Francis

Search forum, there are several possible public transport routes. Train to Batti (leaves Colombo 6.05 AM, arrive 2 PM) then the about 3 hours coastal bus is another option. From Ella or Badulla it's 4-5 hours bus with transfer hence also a slow approach. And there are also night buses Colombo-Arugam.

All the best,

Thanks Erik, probably too far to go with kids, is there anywhere closer to Colombo airport for a day or two that would be like Hikkadua or Unawatuna

Nope, Hikka is closest surf site to airport. Sorry. But it's only 2.30-3 hours by cab...

Thanks, what would we expect to pay for a fab from airport to Hikkadua - 2 adults and 2 kids?

Hi

I found a site called sri lanka taxi dot com which is very helpful (for every visitor) with pricing indications, even if you don't use this company (based in Dambulla).

cheers
