Denali Park

Can we drive our car the first 15 miles, park it and then go how ever far we want on a shuttle bus?

i guess what i am asking is there a stop or parking lot at the 15 mile stop?

There is limited park at Savage. If you are taking the shuttle bus, you should leave your car parked at the WAC and catch the shuttle bus there. :)

The small parking lot there is for hikers only. If you want to get on a shuttle, board back at the WAC. Or if you're staying inside the park at a campground, you can board at the bus stops there (and before you ask, no, you can't just leave your car at a campground if you're not staying there).

But I would recommend doing the drive to Savage at other times while you are visiting the park. I especially enjoy doing that drive in the evening - great time to spot wildlife. :)

FYI WAC near entrance to park, you get shuttle there but I would book ahead on line. Definately worth taking shuttle.
