Motorcycle rides around GNP during Late June early July

My friends and I are bring our travel trailers and motorcycles up to Glacier Nation Park KOA from Salt Lake City for a total of 7 days. I am looking for places to go and things to see in and around the area on motorcycles. We also would like to go to Canada while there to see the sights. Welcome any and all ideas.

Thanks,

Jim

As long aa the Going to the Sun Road is actually open by the time you arrive in late June, motorcycles can travel any and all of Glacier's Paved roads. There are size restrictions for travel trailers though...they MAY have to go the long way around via the #2 even if the road is open. Don't know if it applies to your combo...vehicle combinations, longer than 21 feet (including bumpers) or wider than 8 feet (including mirrors), are prohibited between Avalanche Campground and the Rising Sun picnic area parking.

...............

A good visit to Glacier can use up all 7 days including travel days up and back to SLC. Or are you continuing on instead of going back to SLC?

Waterton Lakes in Canada just north of us had a huge fire last summer and both of the scenic drives there are closed for the entire 2018 season. A part of the Red Rock Canyon drive will be open to hiking and and bicyles but not motor bikes. https:/…ouvert-open

Basically 2 days at the West Glacier KOA and 3 or 4 more for the east side KOA. Then the ride back.

Riding up just to get to Banff is a full day ride, plus Border Crossing. You miss the best ride in North America...the famous Banff/Jasper road and the Icefields Parkway...that deserves a multiple day trip all by itself.

You could however plan to ride the scenic road up to Waterton, see what you can there and then make the loop through Canada back to Whitefish by taking the #3 Crowsnest Scenic Byway to where it intersects the 93. Then take that back to Whitefish.
