Hello, We are staying four nights at the Chachagua Rainforest hotel and would like to continue our vacation 3 more nights on the beach; So what is the nearest beach and how is the fastest and more cost effective way to get there? We are not renting a car so wondering if its possible to go from Chachagua to a beach on a shuttle or taxi? Need help? Thank you everyone
There is no beach nearby as Chachagua is in the middle of the country in an isolated location. You may be able to get a shuttle bus to pick you up on the main road from Arenal to Jaco or Manuel Antonio but you'd have to contact the shuttle company directly. I'd recommend you hire a private driver. Just do a search on this site for recommendations. You can also take public buses but you'll be looking at a lengthy trip and multiple connections. You should also ask your lodging in Chachagua about transfers as they may have a driver they work with.
The closest beach is at Puntarenas but this is not an attractive beach area IMO. The next closest is Jaco tothe south. I would recommend Manuel Antonio as your best beach option but it's an additional 1-1.5 hours south of Jaco.
Way to far to any beach...for example to Jaco beach about 3 hours...to some of the Guanacaste beaches like Tamarindo or Coco...about 4 hours...each way...

Do you know if Samara beach in near by? I know now to expect at least a 3 hour drive or so, maybey my best option is to go to a main town and rent a car from there and drive to Samara?
