Where should we stay???

We are in our fifties and want to visit Aruba. I have no idea where to stay. I want a great beach and somewhere where we do not have to get up early to reserve a palapa. I would also like a place where there are not tons of children. We love All Inclusives but I hear we should not book an AI in Aruba because there are too many good rstaurants. Help. Thanks so much.

Tara quites may be nice at the bucuti.

adults only. NOT all inclusive, but a nice big beach, with lots of palapas.

We like the low-rise area, generally more laid-back, quiet. We stay at Dutch Village, a timeshare resort with all the comforts of home. Supermarkets are only a block away. We stock up and have some of our meals in the apartment.

Wyndham offers timeshare rentals and if you are AARP members you save an additional 10% on bookings.

Great beach, lots of palapas, not alot of children.....I would look at Manchebo, Bucuti, and Amsterdam Manor. I would recommend NOT doing an AI resort in Aruba - it's more fun to be out and about at night at the various restaurants, bars, casinos, etc.

If you look at the resorts ArubaAmy listed I think you'll be very happy. We stayed at the Bucuti and loved it plus you get breakfast there so you can start your day right there on the beach.

Another vote for Bucuti whch has the quietest beach we have ever been on. Rent a car, drive around the island on your own schedule and of course enjoy the wonderful restaurants.

Bucuti. The hotel has various room choices. We have stayed in a Superior Room (gardenview) and were very happy. Tara Suites are very nice, but pretty expensive. We stayed in Tara once and loved the room. If you choose a Superior Room, ask for a room with an even number. Better views. You will have a choice of ground floor patio or upper floor balcony. We prefer the balcony. As of this month, the entire hotel is adult only.

Just something to keep in mind regarding the low-rise area; walkable dining options are limited. If you want to visit the high-rise area of restaurants, you would need to take a bus or taxi.

In the high-rise area, I would recommend the Hyatt or Radisson (I give the Radisson the edge for beach space). Both are lovely properties in the 'heart' of the high-rise area. Close proximity to many restaurants, casinos and evening entertainment.

I'm sure most on this board would not recommend going A/I, unless on a tight budget.

Based upon your specified requirement of less kids and an easy hut on the beach the high rise section is not for you. There will be more kids at any of the high rise hotels then those along Eagle Beach. It is quite challenging to get a hut along the high rise section unless you pay to reserve it of get up really early which you indicate you do not want to do.

One major plus of the high rise section are the large number of restaurants in close proximity to the hotels.
