Car Rental December 2017

Hi,

I have a contact quoting $875 for a car rental in December. This would be including insurance for 7 days, and it is going to be a relatively newer car. Does this sound reasonable?

Thanks!

It is not so much the newness - all rental cars are "relatively new" but the size that makes the difference.

Compare www.rex.cu to see prices from the most expensive of the Cuban companies.

"A contact" - is he reliable ?

As #1 - depends on the size of the car. I think that's a bit high for a "standard", even allowing for it being high season. I have a SUV hired for October for USD102 per day, inclusive of insurance.

$102 sounds low for an SUV - who are you renting through ?

Nashtravel. I know. It's not the Hyundai Santa Fe, it will be smaller, hopefully the Peugeot 2008, maybe a BYD. That said, when we rented the Santa Fe 7 seater a couple of years ago, I think that was about 115CUC per day - but excl. insurance and I can't remember of that was 20 or 30 CUC per day.
