Has anyone stayed at Almond Morgan Bay via a RCI Timeshare exchange? If so, what was the inclusive charge? Did you have a hotel unit or one bedroom? What is Gardenview or Oceanview? Any input would be appreciated - thank you.

Hi

I'm looking at this resort also through RCI. It just showed up as available, but I don't know why. After numerous phone calls and emails, I have determind that the all inclusive fee for RCI exchangers is 132.50 pp per day in March Thats garden view. Ocean view is 152.50

One Bedroom all inclusive is 195 pp per day

DOes that help? I posted questions yesterday regarding this resort and got positive feedback regarding the resort itself. Don't know much about the actual location.

Actual location is between SLU airport and Rodney Bay along the main road which is the North of the island.

well, I have a 24 hour hold on the resort.

I also have a hold on a week in the BVI at the Tradewinds Cruise Club (we're members)

I can't decide what to do! It's hard to know what my 22 year old would like better.

Hi - thank you. Yes, they just posted the 2011 rates after I have been pushing RCI for about two weeks - they suddenly have opend this resort for exchange for almost a year of weeks to exchange - having been a member of RCI for a very long time this is very bizzare at best. I am slightly hesitant to book this resort I have read alot of reviews from everywhere and get very mixed feelings. The fact that they just announced 2011 inclusive rates after they were attempting to take bookings is not right. They wanted me to confirm before I new what the inclusive was. Also, the 195 PP/Pnight is extremely high based upon other resorts I have stayed at with world renown chefs, true gold crown ratings, etc. This resort has not even been rated - yet. Again, thank you for your comments - I am going to do a little more homework.

I agree it is bizarre that there is all this availability! I was wondering if it recently changed to timeshare and that's what happened. I also read somewhere that they were closed for awhile and reopened. If you read the reviews, the St Lucia resorts are ranked higher than the Barbados resorts. That's what made me decide on St Lucia.

According to RCI, the reason they didn't have the all inclusive rates is because the resort hadn't provided them yet. If they recently reopened, that may make sense. Anyway, I had RCI the resort, that's how I got the rates.

I may take the chance! It looks very nice, and as long as I book the hotel room, the all inclusive isn't that bad

Hi - yes Almond has just recently reopened certain buildings at all of the resorts for both St. Lucia & Barbados as I found out by talking to the resort speciailist for Almond Properties located in Miami. The ratings for St. Lucia are slightly higher because they have been open longer but keep in mind the ratings are just a combo of RCI Guest member opinions only (so if your opinion or experience vs someone else's stay no matter what the facts are will be very different). Also, I think it is odd that all of the openings on all properties are only posted until Dec. 11, 2011 until someone explained to me that RCI and Almond have a one year contract to push timeshares to be sold into the RCI membership program. I am told they are pushing these units because they are looking desperately for people to purchase timeshare at these resorts. Currently there are very few RCI members who already own hence the reason there was never availability. Be prepared for a hard sales pitch. I understand your point about a hotel unit inclusive price vs. a 1 bedroom but I also think that stinks - inclusive rates should not be based on room size or location - it should be based on meals, drinks, activities, etc. I truly am hot happy to give up my one bedroom exchange for a hotel unit to save dollars on an inclusive that gives me no more drinks, food, advantages, etc. Anyway - thanks for your input - good luck to you - are you thinking of going anytime soon?

I also looked at this through RCI and think the daily rate is far too high..you can get it cheaper booking on the internet without using up an exchange week!!

I actually checked that, having had the experience before, and the rate was higher booking directly. We actually decided to do the TWCC catamaran in the BVI instead. But the decision had nothing to do with the resort. My daughter just wanted to go to the BVI
