Traveling to Provo solo...need a little help

Hello,

I have traveled the Caribbean extensively and finally bit the bullet and purchased a plane ticket to Provo. Now, I need to secure accommodations. Because I am traveling solo, I prefer a resort/hotel with an interior access/entrance to rooms; I hope this makes sense. I often go to Scottsdale. If I am traveling solo, I stay at the Westin because all rooms are interior; however, if I am traveling with someone, I will stay in a lovely casita.

In my quick search, I saw that Blue Haven Resort may offer the kind of accommodations that I am looking for, but wondering if there are others I am missing. My reservation is that this resort is not in Grace Bay; however, I plan to rent a car a couple days. Also, this is a true relaxation trip where I plan to do a lot of reading on the beach and relaxing by the pool. I am a high school counselor, so this is my "woosah" trip before the school year begins. I will be traveling in July and prefer not to exceed $2,000 for accommodations for 4 days.

Thanks in advance for any information you provide.

Best regards,

Sylvia

I understand the interior entrance for a solo traveler, however, I think you should stay on Grace Bay. Somewhere more central. Ocean Club West or The Sands are mid priced, very well lit up along entrances and pathways, a nice amount of people around, water sports included, beautiful large beach and security day and night. Both have a restaurant on site, for a drink or quick bite and both a short stroll or bike to the IGA or other restaurants. Ocean Club West being closest of the 2. Grace Bay is far superior to the man made beach at BH. Have fun not matter where you stay!

I think Blue Haven might be a little remote and you would have to drive almost everywhere. You might check Seven Stars a very nice resort on Grace Bay and a very nice beach, near some restaurants, IGA food store and shopping. Some good restaurants include Via Venuto, Coco Bistro, Seven

Thank you so much for your quick response. Any thoughts on Le Vele. I saw rates that were pretty decent and contacted the hotel directly. She offered a rate of 50%, which is a AMAZING! But, now I am little nervous and thinking is this too good to be true. Of course, I will spend some time reading through reviews, but wanted to see if you had any thoughts. Thanks!

Le Vele is my favorite place. No worries recommending this place. The doors are open to the exterior however, there are elevators to get to the higher floors (ask for that). It is safe and quiet, sounds like exactly what you are looking for. There is no restaurant or bar on site. Think more of a residential feel.

We are at LeVele now. Grab the 50%! It is in a great location, but no restaurant or bar on site, however, lots within walking or use one of their free bikes. If you are renting a one bedroom they have 2 on the elevated first floor and 1 on the second floor in the rental pool. Love it here!

Le Vele is a much better choice than Blue Haven! Centrally located, small, quaint and quiet. It's within walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Take advantage of the 50% off and book it!

Enjoy!

Hi Sylvia,

I just got back yesterday from T&C. We were at Blue Haven on Tues for lunch. Beautiful place but very remote compared to the rest of the island. The restaurant SALT is amazing. There are tons of beautiful yachts in the marina there. If you are looking for R+R seems like an ok place but you will need a car to get into Grace Bay for most activities and meals. I felt Blue Haven was very private and seemed to have a lot of families with small kids on the beach which is not as aggressive waves as Grace Bay due to it being in a sound. We did love Leeward Beach which is between that resort and Grace Bay. No one around there.

We rented a condo most nights we were there but the last night was booked so we switched over to Villa Del Mar in a more private section of Grace Bay. It's just across the street from the beach but was a very nice safe boutique hotel. The rooms all have a patio or balcony. No interior room access though, however it was very safe, we even left our keys in the door and an employee knocked to advise us and give them back. They also have a sign on their beach right now for $250 a night, we paid more then that and online they usually offer $375. So if you are interested maybe mention the beach poster offer. I'd recommend for another woman, even though I was with my husband I still had no issues with safety or anything strange when I was out and about. Rooms are gorgeous. Good luck to you!

I would NOT recommend Blue Haven. Stay on Grace Bay as others have recommended. I love Seven Stars but any property on Grace Bay that has a restaurant, I believe you will appreciate. The possibility of eating on site makes it feel more like a community and has a warmer vibe.
