Can anyone tell me what the current tax amount is? We booked our airfare through Expedia and I don't think it is included with the tickets. Also, can we pay this by Travellers cheques or credit card or should we make sure we have cash? thanks in advance for responses.!

It will be included in your tickets. It is ONLY people travelling to the UK on CHARTER flights who need to be concerned about paying this tax separately.

I've booked my last several (as in about 6) trips through Expedia and haven't had to pay the tax separately once.

So how much is it and what currency can you pay in?

It's about 780 pesos or 38/39 quid per person and you can pay it in pesos or sterling (NOT Scottish notes apparently). US dollars are sometimes accepted and sometimes not. People report that it works out marginally less expensive to pay in pesos rather than any other currency.

Martin - on the assumption you booked a package vacation, there should be some blurb in their info about this. You might want to check ....

I was just teasing!

But interesting that they don't tell you how much the tax is. (I can understand not putting that in printed material as it does change) but you'd think a travel agent would know - after all, they can access Trip Advisor too.
