LCDH (Cigar Shop) In Cozumel

There is a cigar store at the address below:

Rafael E. Melgar Ave. No.01-B Altos, esquina con Juárez Ave.

We're docking at Puerta de Maya, is it possible to walk to the store or how much would a taxi cost?

If you like to walk, yes. It's about 6 kilometers from your pier.

The store is downtown, across the waterfront street from the passenger ferry pier and upstairs -- above a jewelry shop. The entrance is a few steps east of the corner and is on Juarez, which is a pedestrian-only street leading to the main plaza. Entrance is opposite the south side of Palmeras restaurant.

Taxi is around $14USD for up to 4 passengers, each way, now and fares will soon be increased.

Do keep in mind that the vast majority of "Cuban" cigars sold on the island are fake. La Casa del Habanos is an authorized Habanos dealer so they don't sell fakes, and there are a very few other places with genuine Habanos.. Cuban cigars are, however, very expensive no matter where you purchase them. This is actually a tip-off to fakes. You can find the official price lists online. If someone offers you cigars cheaper than they can be bought at the factory in Cuba, they are most definitely fake.

If you're looking for non-Cuban, cigars, you're really better off either buying them at home or getting them in the duty-free on the way home.

This is not to say that Mexican cigars can't be very good. Just don't pay Cuban prices for them.
