Garden Route early May - what wheater to expect?

Hello, we are considering going on a 14 night trip from P.E. to Cape Town between 27 April and 11 May. Obviously we will spend quite some time on the Garden Route.

Can anyone comment on what kind of weather to expect (on average)?

We don't expect perfect beach weather but are hoping it is reasonable to expect comfortable temperatures during the day (around 20 C) with not too much rain. Are we correct?

The weather could be a mixture of cold and wet to sunny and warm. You won't have any freezing temperatures! Just take your rain jackets and some warm clothes with you but don't forget your swimming gear because the temperatures might be good to just lie on the beach.
