eTA approved by email but can't find it when I check status

Hello everybody!

I have applied for eTA on behalf of my parents and I received an approved eTA for both but when I check the eTA status, it shows "No matches were found using the criteria provided". I applied in March and until now I have never checked the status because the emails from IRCC were very clear. eTA has been approved.

What should I do now if I can not find the validity when I check the status?

I mention that this issue is for both persons. Can they have an issue with the website or so?

We have bought the tickets already.

We should try to apply again, is that OK?

Thank you!

It's good you started your own thread. Your other post was well down someone else's thread.

I liked what Frommy suggested in your other post:

Are you using this site:

In the first box are you selecting this:

"I have an approved eTA. I want to consult my file."

Hi Elaine;

The individual "Reply" buttons don't alert a user to the presence of a reply. You need to "address" your comments, such as I did above. Hopefully the writer will return to the thread and answer.

For those of you arriving late, let’s review...

1) Most visitors to Canada require an eTA.

2) Apply for an eTA as early as possible.

3) Wait to make any non-refundable purchases (flights, accommodations, etc) until *after* your eTA has been approved.

4) ONLY apply via the official Government of Canada website.

www.Canada.ca/eTA

5) The cost of an eTA is $7 Canadian. If you are asked to pay more, you are not using the official Government of Canada website.

6) Applying is quite simple and does NOT require a third party to apply on your behalf.

7) The eTA is NOT a Visa. It is only authorization to board a plane to Canada.

8) Without a valid eTA, you WILL be denied boarding by the airline.

9) Even with an eTA, you *could* still be denied entry upon arrival in Canada, by Customs and/or Immigration.

10) An eTA is NOT required to enter Canada by land, from the US.

11) If approved, you will receive notice by email. Your eTA will be “electronically” attached to your passport.

12) If you have ever held Canadian citizenship you can NOT apply for an eTA. You must use your Canadian passport. If you no longer have a valid Canadian passport, you must apply for and receive, a new Canadian passport, prior to travel.
