Mt. Tremblant or Montreal Longueuil?

I've narrowed my travel plans for 2006 and I need advice on whether to travel to Mt. Tremblant or Montreal Longueuil next year. What are the best times to travel? What are the big differences in these two areas? I will have to rely on local transport to sight see and want to experience the local nightlife, restaurants, culture etc. Any ideas?
