Restaurant/things to do

Restaurant/things to do

I will be staying in the plateau mont Royal area for 3 nights four days. What are some things I need to do and eat?! Looking for any suggestions for nearby eats, and if I should buy the passport!? Thanks.

For food you have to try.

Schwartz smoked meat.

Bagels at Fairmount or St Viateur.

Beaver tails in the old port.

Poutine, can be found anywhere maybe La Banquise.

For restaurants, price range? Type of food?

We answered the question about the passeport not that long ago. Generally not worth it. Still visiting the Montreal museum of Fine arts and the Pointe a Callière museum are both a must. But I personally cannot justify the price for what you get. Especially since many things you would not do unless you have the passport. However if you know you will be visiting the casino it can be worth it.

The Plateau has a truckload of dining options; however the majority are mediocre.

A few standouts are classics such as Beauty's and L'Express, longstanding staples such as le Jardin de Panos and Khyber Pass, and finally newer comers such as Le Sieur d'Iberville, Mayfair and Ibericos.

In Plateau Mont-royal, I had a delicious breakfast at Restaurant L'Avenue. I would also highly recommend the sesame bagels at St-Viateur Bagel Shop. La Banquise and Ma Poule Mouillée are popular choices for poutine, although the latter is more known for its Portuguese-style grilled chicken.

Here is the TripAdvisor web page about things to do in Montreal: https:/…ATTRACTION_SORT_WRAPPER

I would suggest you to visit the Mount Royal Park, Saint Joseph's Oratory, Old Montreal... For the food, I highly recommend you to try la poutine. I also recommend you to go to Fairmount Bagel or st Viateur Bagel. (I prefer the Fairmount Bagel). For desserts, I would suggest you the Kem Coba. It is close to the Fairmount Bagel. You can also go to Juliette et chocolat.

@514eats Is Le Sieur d'Iberville still open? I read that it had permanently closed.
