North or South?

We are traveling in late November. How do you choose between north and south? Can anyone tell me the difference. We like to do "outdoorsy" things during the day but would also like to be close to the nightlife (casino's etc.)

Night life is mostly South side. We usually like the north side becasue we are not into casinos.

In late November South Lake, as well as the rest of the lake, is actually pretty quiet. The exception being Thanksgiving. If you want casinos and nightlife then that's the place to be. Outdoorsy things can be done anywhere around the lake but the weather may not cooperate - just so you know. Some ski resorts might be (partially) open by then.

Briana L, welcome to the forums.

Both North and South Lake have casinos, but the ones in South Lake are more concentrated and have more nightlife than the north. Which is why I prefer North Lake.

The Hyatt in Incline Village has a Casino in NE, and there are a few at the north Stateline. In SLT there are 5 casinos at Stateline

I like North Shore because I go to Tahoe for peace, quiet and relaxation...I prefer to be away from the Casinos and nightlife. But it sounds like South Lake Tahoe is a perfect fit for you. There's plenty of outdoorsy things to do anywhere around the Lake but South Lake is where you want to be for nightlife.
