We are visiting London in December and hoping to book a festive afternoon tea. We are looking at Claridges or The Langham. Any suggestions for which one would be the better experience?

I cannot compare as I havent being tot he Langham. I can however be extremely positive about Claridges Festive tea being really excellent. Notably on the festive mark compared to a regular afternoon tea there and with more options provided on top of what is a top -drawer afternoon tea anyway.

Oh and we got mini Xmas cakes to takeaway from it as well.

I love the quiet elegance, perfect service and delicious food of Claridge's but I don't know what you like.

There are people who actually prefer the Ritz!

I also second what Leagle just said, as that what makes me seek out and return to Claridges for tea as a special thing in London.

Oh fantastic! My first choice was Claridges, you have sold it to me! Now to stalk the booking system until my dates are available to book 😂

That sounds perfect to me!

The Ritz is fully booked anyway, that saves having another option to consider!

They only book 89 days in advance so it’s up until 18th December just now, we’re down between Christmas and new year so it should open up shortly 😁

Then you need to keep an eye on the dates carefully. The festive tea slots will go fast. The time I booked I booked about 2 and a half months in advance and only got a cancellation slot. That was in the first week of December from memory.

Claridges festive afternoon tea is delicious, my son took me a couple of years ago as my Christmas present. I'm very jealous

1. Claridges

2. The Savoy

3. The Langham

Anywhere else except the Ritz, they really let me down and is a tourist trap!

I’d personally look at the festive menu first then eagerly await the booking systems to open :)
