Hello,

London Gatwick Airport is a stop on the railway line between London and Brighton.

Brighton is very easy to get to from Gatwick, trains run frequently directly from the airport.

You daughter needs to take the First Capital Connect train to Brighton. The trains run frequently and the Brighton destination will appear on the board.

She can get tickets from either the ticket machines at Gatwick or from the ticket sellers window (which often has a long queue) She need to follow the signs for "trains". The tickets are on the same leval as "arrivals", the platforms are down an escalator.

She needs the trains running "southbound" as opposed to the northbound trains for London.

If she just asks for a 'single to Brighton', the ticket will be valid on the next train, regardless of who is operating it. In fact the ticket clerk would probably be able to tell her which platform and what time.

I'm not sure what you mean by that? All the FCC trains from Gatwick go to Brighton, whether they are the stopping service or not.

You are of course correct bungle73. Both FCC and Southern go to Brighton. As I always take the FCC, I had overlooked that.

Apologies to the OP.
