Hall Hire in the Highlands???

Hall Hire in the Highlands???

Hi there,

I run a Spiritual Meditation group and we're looking to hire an inexpensive hall or accommodation space with kitchen and toilet facilities anywhere in a natural / scenic area of Scotland.

There's 8 of us, we're from Glasgow. A very quiet group of Treehuggers :-)

Looking to travel/book for Friday 31st August leaving Sunday 2nd September

Thank you for any recommendations :-)

Ronnie

When you say a “hall” it sounds like you are planning to kip in somewhere like a village hall? That probably wouldn’t be legal or fair on the owners, as they probably wouldn’t have the appropriate licenses, Insurance’s etc for people to sleep,

You should look for proper sleeping accommodation. There are lots of possibilities on booking.com, from hotels who may be able to give you use of a room for your meditation to wigwams/ pods which may be more your style and simply use the floor space in one of them for your meditation - or outdoors if weather permits.

Somewhere like this - https://www.badaguish.org

Or google “glamping in Scotland” / apply filters on booking.com to get to whatever appeals most.

I think you're right

Badaguish is awesome...perfect kinda place for our needs.

They're availability for our dates are low and prices a bit more than our budget

I've been searching the web all night for lodge/cottage type accommodation in scenic areas around stirlingshire, argyllt, loch lomond. It's a helluva task :-) We first specified anywhere in Scotland but these areas are more greatly preferred.

Bagluish is only £20 ppn on booking.com in 2 wigwams. Here’s a cheaper one (also on booking.com) -

Just search Scotland for 8 people, 4 rooms, on booking.com. and sort results by price to get lots of options.

Does it really matter if you are separated slightly while you are sleeping in adjoining wigwams!? 😁

No but we also have a need to participate in group activities throughout our stay and need a single sizeable room for that

Your dates are just before University of Stirling semester start but I don't think their rates would be as cheap as a wigwam :-) About £200 for a 7-person chalet/flat for 2 nights.

However, no problems about venue as loads of rooms, or you might get space in the Chaplaincy, or you can sit around the Airthrey Standing Stone (there's also the Pathfoot Stone on the campus)

There are wigwam sites here; Mains Farm is near Thornhill outside Stirling

Hall hire? There are school outdoor pursuit centres in many parts of Scotland who will rent out to groups outwith termtime. Typically they have commonrooms, bunk bedrooms, kitchen, toilets and would therefore be self-contained. I remember hiring one - it was MANY years ago, so may or may not be the same as back then - for a ski course, and it was fine for a group of about a dozen. Cromdale outdoor centre, unsurprisingly in Cromdale, which is on the north east fringes of the Cairngorm park and on the A95.

https:/…adventure-aberdeen for contact details.

Cromdale itself doesn't have much in the way of facilities but Grantown-on-Spey isn't far away.
