Public Transportation in St. Andrews

I will be in St. Andrews for a long weekend in August and need to get around to a couple different places in the area. I will be celebrating a wedding, and just need to get from point A to B a few times. I know a taxi will be the easiest option – but is there any kind of local bus route in St. Andrew's? And if so, where could I find a map of its stops? How much would a taxi be for roughly a 2 mile journey?

St Andrews itself is small enough that is is fairly walkable. There are local buses that connect St Andrews with surrounding villages (and stop along the way) and with the railway station. There are also coaches (e.g. between St Andrews and Edinburgh).

There are a number of taxi companies in St Andrews. This one has an online fare calculator that may be of use: standrewstaxis.co.uk/#/fare-guide/4539558181

About seven pounds for a 2 mile cab trip.

If you go to Google maps and get directions between point it will also give you public transport options and show you bus stops. e.g.

The old part of ST Andrews is very walkable.

travelinescotland.com/timetableplanner/confi…

has timetables for a number of bus routes to nearby (and not so near) villages, while

www.moffat-williamson.co.uk/Timetables/

includes timetables for some more local bus routes, specifically Route 9B through the extended St. Andrews area.
