I've left this to the last minute but hope I have time to stock up before I leave Glasgow.
Where in the centre of town can I buy MacSween's vegetarian haggis?
Virtually all large supermarkets sell it.
Tesco, Morrisons, Asda etc on the chilled counter. How will you keep them cool?
Haggis from MacSween's is a cooked and vacuum packet product. It will keep perfectly at room temp for months because it is vacuum packed. Bacteria can't grow without oxygen. That's why domestic vacuum packers are now so popular especially with hikers & camper, refrigeration & chilling is like using floppy discs, REDUNDANT.
Thanks all, particularly for the specific answers. I've been told that big supermarkets have it but I don't know any, hence my question.
I'll try Sainsbury's in Buchannan Galleries in the morning. Can't believe I've left my most important purchase to the last minute.
Purple C, I've flown with it in my hold luggage quite a few times so I'm confident it will last the 24 hour journey home to my freezer in Thailand :)
Good to know it can be transported in the hold! I confess I had visions of the change in air pressure causing a messy haggis catastrophe. 😂

As long as it's a complete vacuum, you shouldn't get this problem. That would be hilarious though, a big ballooning haggis explosion!
If it's vegetarian it's not haggis.
Yes, it's not haggis. It's vegetarian haggis.
