children and pubs/alcohol

Hi

Ive booked a few days family break in Premier Inn George Square

What is the situation regarding children in pubs etc?

we have been spoilt with holidays in spain where its normal to have a few drinks before dinner

The situation is confusing enough here in NI and I guess the law is different in Scotland?

what im talking about is two drinks max and soft drinks for kids in a nice bar before moving on for dinner.

thanks in advance

Gary

Some pubs allow children and some don't. Best to ask if in doubt.

Near you both The Auctioneers and Counting House allow children in, until a certain time, 8pm I think.

Even Pubs that allow Children, the cut off is usually 8pm.

The Law here is just as vague!

To many variants to the Licensing Laws to go into!

You will either be accepted or told otherwise if not.

I thought you had to order food (not just drinks) if you are in Wetherspoons (counting House) with children? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Wetherspoons website says that some of their pubs only allow children in if the party are all ordering food.

Some Wetherspoons allow kids in without ordering a meal, others don't.

If in doubt, as with anything, ask.
